Lone Brøndsted: New Professor at Vetschool
On 1 May Lone Brøndsted will assume her position as Professor at Vetschool, Section for Food Safety and Zoonoses.
Lone Brøndsted, Section for Food Safety and Zoonoses has been appointed Professor in Phage Biology. Lone has been employed at KU since 2000, having worked at DTU after compiling her PhD in 1994.
Lone Brøndsted's research aims at molecular understanding of bacterial viruses called phages and their interaction with bacteria, in particular in the field of phages infecting Campylobacter.
Current research includes exploring the antimicrobial potential of phages and phage proteins into novel approaches to combat pathogenic bacteria such as Campylobacter, Salmonella and E. coli.
Lone did a two year run as head of department and is presently doing a master in public administration on top of her research work. Learn MORE about Lone Brøndsted's research.
