Phage hunting

Bacteriophages are isolated from a variety of sources and analysed for their ability to lyse different bacterial species such as Campylobacter, Salmonella and E. coli.

Using state-of-the-art techniques we perform high-trough-out DNA sequencing of bacteriophage genomes. Genome comparisons allow us to study the overall diversity and similarity between phages. Combining biological data allow us to identify receptor-binding proteins and other features encoded by these phages.
