Epidemiology and Disease Control

The Epidemiology and Disease Control Research Group carries out research, teaching and contingency work related to epidemiology and disease control primarily in animal populations. We do so via collaborations in a variety of projects and organisational constructs, which often has an ‘amoeboid’ structure, i.e., ad hoc collaborations of variable duration and intensity involving different individuals. This secures a high degree of flexibility and use of our wide range of competences to support a wide range of research projects. Commonalities are therefore mostly around teaching (in infectious disease epidemiology, animal health economics, biostatistics, data science and modelling, risk assessment, critical reading, One Health approaches and others) for veterinary medicine students, PhD students and others, and veterinary contingency work, which is done mostly under service contracts for the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration /The Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries.
