Reorganization of the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences
On November 14, 2024, the department's management group decided to reorganize the department, so that from January 1, 2025, IVH will be organized with four new sections.
The four new sections will be formed by merging entire existing sections.
- Section for Comparative Pediatrics and Nutrition (CPN) is merged with
Section for Preclinical Disease Biology (PDB) and the academic environment at the Department of Experimental Medicine (AEM-Panum) to be provisionally called – section 1. - Section for Production Nutrition and Health (PNH) is merged with Section for Animal Welfare and Disease Control (AWD) – section 2.
- Section for Veterinary Clinical Microbiology (VCM) is merged with Section for Food Safety and Zoonoses (FSZ) – section 3.
- Section for Parasitology and Aquatic Pathobiology (PAP) with Section for Pathobiology (PAS) – section 4.
In dialogue with the new section heads, deputy section heads have been appointed, so that the section head and deputy section head come from each of the merged “former sections”.
Below is an organizational chart with the names of the future section heads and deputy section heads for the four new sections. In addition, the names of appointed deputy department heads who will have cross-functional responsibility at IVH within the areas of: research, innovation, education and government services are shown.
The starting point for the new organization is that all existing research groups will be continued into the new sections.
At the beginning of 2025, the names of the new sections will be adopted. This means that the website will be characterized by a lot of updating and ongoing restructuring.
