Celebrating the successful completion of the One Health International Summer Course 2024
Liza Rosenbaum Nielsen and I are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of this year’s One Health International Summer Course, which is offered in collaboration between Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, UCPH and the DTU Fødevareinstituttet.
The course brought together a diverse and talented group of students from all corners of the globe, united by a shared passion for addressing the complex interconnections between human, animal, and environmental health.
Starting with a 5-week e-learning part and ending with six days on campus, participants engaged in an intensive curriculum that combined cutting-edge research, hands-on learning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. From insightful lectures to discussion of innovative solutions, the course fostered a deeper understanding of the One Health approach, empowering the next generation of global health leaders.
A huge congratulations to all the students for their dedication, curiosity, and hard work. Your contributions have made this course a truly inspiring and impactful experience.
We want also to acknowledge and thank all tutors and organisers from UCPH and DTU who made this course possible: Camilla Kirketerp Nielsen, Rebecca Leigh Rutt, Lars Erik Larsen, Carsten Kirkeby, Arshnee Moodley, Nao Takeuchi-Storm, Abbey Olsen, Anna-Sofie Stensgaard. Your expertise and commitment have left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to experts at the WHO Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen, who took time to arrange a visit and discuss, how they incorporate One Health in their collaboration with member states and other UN organisations.
Finally, we would like to thank the @Botanical Garden at UCPH, Melena Schjøth, for organizing a perfect ending to the course with a splendid guided tour around the garden and a lovely dinner.
We look forward to seeing how our graduates will apply their knowledge and skills to advance the One Health mission in their communities and beyond.
Here’s to a future where health is holistic and global!
