Annual bird trip to Fyn and Sprogø

In late May 2026, the annual Avian Influenza Epidemiology Group bird trip went to the island of Fyn (Funen) to learn about and experience pheasant rearing in Denmark. We learned a lot about this highly specialized type of production. The trip then included a visit to Sprogø to learn more about birdlife on the island and conduct pilot testing of environmental samples for avian influenza in wild birds.
