Myggetal.dk relaunched with a new design and updated vector-surveillance data
The University of Copenhagen’s Vector Group has relaunched Myggetal.dk, the public platform presenting results from the Danish surveillance of mosquitoes, biting midges and ticks.
The redesigned website makes it easier to explore current and historical surveillance data. Visitors can select individual vector species or groups and view corresponding graphs and information about their biology, seasonal activity and potential importance for disease transmission.
The updated website includes:
- A new design optimised for both computers and mobile devices.
- Improved navigation between mosquitoes, biting midges and ticks.
- Interactive graphs presenting surveillance results.
- Expanded descriptions of the monitored vector species and groups.
- Information about the current vector and vector-borne disease situation in Denmark.
- Guidance on how data and figures from Myggetal.dk should be cited.
Myggetal.dk presents data collected through the Vector Group’s contribution to Danish national vector surveillance. Mosquitoes and biting midges are monitored using specialised traps, while ticks are collected by flagging vegetation at selected field sites. The surveillance helps document seasonal vector activity, detect changes therein compared to previous years, and support assessments of vector-borne disease risks.
The surveillance and dissemination activities contribute to evidence-based advice and preparedness concerning vectors and vector-borne diseases in Denmark.
