Stem Cell & Disease Modeling Group

The Stem Cell & Disease Modeling Group uses advanced 2D and 3D model systems to interrogate the biological mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases.

We investigate how neurons and glia, together with inflammatory processes, shape disease initiation and progression, alongside the cellular and molecular pathways driving inflammatory, metabolic, neurological, cardiovascular, and degenerative disorders. In parallel, we study aging and vascular dysfunction using animal models and animal-derived systems, with the aim of uncovering conserved mechanisms of disease across biological scales.
