Investigating nature
My main interest is to find patterns in a large variety of biological systems, extract parameters and and create computer models to understand the systems. I mainly work with epidemiological methods, including estimation of transmission rates, simulation of disease outbreaks in different populations. This often includes bioeconomic modeling of the consequences and control scenarios for disease outbreaks. I also have a passion for building bridges between research areas, merging different disciplines into new methods for biological discoveries. My main research interests include epidemiology, (lidar) entomology, amphibians, evolutionary and general biology.
