We are proud to share that Yangfan Liu’s study, "The role of wild birds in transmitting highly pathogenic avian influenza in Denmark: An exploration using a spatiotemporal model" has been published in the journal Ecological Modelling. This research highlights the development of the DanHPAIwild model, a spatiotemporal simulation framework designed to explore avian influenza dynamics in wild bird populations. Link to the paper HERE.

The study identifies high-risk areas and seasons, and evaluates intervention strategies, such as carcass removal, which showed a significant reduction in bird mortality. These findings provide crucial insights for managing avian influenza outbreaks in Denmark and beyond.
