Nordfugl October 2025
The Avian Influenza Epidemiology group hosted the annual Nordfugl online seminar on 1 October 2025. Participants from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Faroe Islands and Greenland shared their status on the current situation regarding avian influenza, and updates on research. Discussions after the presentations included challenges with surveillance, research gaps, trends in population structure and disease transmission, and much more.
A special theme this year was bird migration related to avian influenza, and three invited presenters shared their extensive knowledge on the topic: Jonas Waldenström from Sweden, Morten Helberg from Norway and Preben Clausen from Denmark.
