Andrew Williams: Inauguration lecture

We are very pleased to invite you for the  inauguration lecture by Professor Andrew R. Williams, section for Parasitology and and Pathobiology.  

Andrew Williams

Andrew obtained his PhD at the University of Western Australia. After postdoctoral positions at Oxford University, UK, and the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), he was appointed  as Assistant Professor at UCPH in 2016, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2018, and in 2025 he was appointed Professor. His key research interests cover a number of related areas:

  • Parasitology, host–parasite interactions, intestinal biology
  • Inflammatory biology and immune modulation
  • Nutrition-related modulation of immunity
  • Plant secondary metabolites, bioactive compounds, and diet–microbiota–parasite interactions 

This has led to a number of grants and funding from e.g. Novo Nordisk Foundation, DFF and EU, and a large number of publications. 

Originally from Australia, Andrew has a large international network, and is a board member of Scandinavian-Baltic Society for Parasitology.

After the lecture the section will be hosting a reception in Dyrlægevej 100, 2nd floor and you are all welcome.
