BIRD award to Giulia Corsi, postdoc at Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences
The Best young Italian Researcher in Denmark' Award (BIRD) is presented to Italian researchers operating in Denmark who received part of their education in Italy, in recognition of innovative research conducted in each of the three European Research Council (ERC) domains: Physical and Engineering Sciences, Life Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities. This initiative is coordinated by the Italian Embassy, the Italian Institute of Culture in Copenhagen, and the ARSID (Associazione Ricercatori e Scienziati Italiani in Danimarca).
The award was received by postdoc Giulia Corsi in the category Life Sciences for her work on improving genome engineering strategies through computational modelling for the study of neurodegenerative disorders. This work was carried out by Giulia as part of her PhD at the Center for non-coding RNA in Technology and Health, Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The award was presented to Giulia by the Ambassador of Italy Luigi Ferrari on July 4th 2022, at the Embassy of Italy in Copenhagen.
